Department Goals
Students will:
- Show an appreciation for the contribution the arts have made in various cultures, both past and present.
- Understand the nature, structure, and meaning of the arts.
- Demonstrate the skills and craftsmanship necessary for effective expression in the arts.
- Respect the originality in one’s own creative expression and sensitivity and responsiveness to the expression of others.
- Express themselves through the media of art, media, speech, music, and drama with originality, flexibility, fluency, and imagination.
- Participate in the visual and performing arts.
- Serve God and humanity through the gifts of art, media, speech, music, and drama.
- Use appropriate instruments, electronic equipment, computers, and networks to access information, process ideas, and communicate results.
- Contribute productively as individuals and as members of a group.
- Analyze the interrelationships of visual and performing arts and the relationships of the arts to other disciplines.
