Department Goals
Students will:
- Use science concepts, process skills, critical thinking, and values in making responsible, everyday decisions.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and be able to apply the scientific method.
- Communicate their knowledge of the major concepts, principles, laws, and theories of science and apply them in appropriate ways.
- Participate in cooperative problem solving in discussion and laboratory situations.
- Appreciate the interconnectiveness of the physical and the living world, realizing how a single action may produce a number of different consequences.
- Recognize their role in their stewardship of the environment.
- Recognize the relationship between science and technology and how this impacts society.
