HONORS SCHOLARSHIPS

Honors scholarships recognize students with strong academic credentials. These are renewable scholarships that are automatically applied to students that meet all criteria.

President's Scholarship

For academically gifted students, Trinity Catholic High School offers two academic scholarships that are available to students who meet the specified criteria. The President's Scholarship are $4,000 and $3,000 awards, renewable each year provided the student continues to meet the specified criteria. To earn the President's Scholarship a student must:

  • Average at or above the 90th percentile on their National Achievement Tests
    (Explore, Stanford, Iowa Tests of Basics Skills, MAP, etc.).
    Achieve 3.50 or higher Core Grade Point Average (Core GPA is considered Communication Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies) for 6th, 7th, and 1st semester of 8th-grade grades. We utilize the grading scale provided by the student's school.
  • Choose Trinity Catholic High School as first choice high school.
  • Apply and participate in the Honors Program (renewable as long as the student maintains Honors Program status).

To earn the $3,000 President's Scholarship award a student must:

  • Average at or above the 80th percentile on National Achievement Tests
    (Explore, Stanford, Iowa Tests of Basics Skills, MAP, etc.).
    Achieve 3.25 or higher Core Grade Point Average (Core GPA is considered Communication Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies) for 6th, 7th, and 1st semester of 8th-grade grades. We utilize the grading scale provided by the student's school.
  • Choose Trinity Catholic High School as the first choice high school.

NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS

Our faculty and staff are passionate about delivering a premier, Catholic college preparatory education to students from all backgrounds and our mission calls us to help make Trinity Catholic High School's education accessible to families who are not able to afford full tuition. To that end, Trinity Catholic High School and our generous donors provide more than $1.9 million in financial support to qualifying families each year. We are incredibly proud to provide assistance to our families creating a lifelong partnership. Trinity Catholic High School uses a third-party company to determine the amount of aid each family may receive. The purpose of the following scholarships is to provide tuition assistance to those in need. Many of these scholarships are provided by families and organizations with close connection to Trinity Catholic High School, and we are grateful for their ongoing support and commitment to our mission.

To Apply

In order to be considered for any need-based scholarships, families must complete the following steps:

  • Complete Online registration at www.trinityregister.org.
  • Complete the scholarship application.
  • Student submit a typed 500 word essay on the topic listed in the description.
  • Submit two letters of recommendation from non-family members.

Outstanding Service Scholarship

Christian Service is defined as acts that stem from a Christ-centered belief in serving the Lord and doing His wi 11. Service is the selfless giving of oneself to benefit others with no expectation of recognition, reward, or acknowledgment. The recipients of theTrinity Catholic High School's Outstanding Service Scholarship display love and understanding of their faith and articulate a commitment, not only to performing acts of service but to living a service-focused life. The Trinity Catholic High School Service Scholarships are $2,500, and are available to students who:

  • Are a registered Catholic with the Archdiocese of St. Louis or a member of a local church.
  • Exemplify Christ-centered behavior through volunteer service to parish, church, school, and/or community.
  • Display a history of serving others.
  • Incoming Freshman must be currently enrolled in a Catholic elementary school or attend PSR classes through a Catholic parish or school.
  • Student must submit a typed 500 word essay that demonstrates service to others. Discuss your involvement in your parish, church, school and/or community.

Titan Award

The Titan Award provides a scholarship for helping others. The Titan Award, in the amount of $1,000 each, is available to Trinity Catholic High School students whose families commit to 20 hours of service. Service hours may be completed by family members, parents and/or guardians. Students must submit a 500 word essay answering the question"How will I make a difference at Trinity Catholic High School?"

The Ambassador Scholarship

The Ambassador Scholarship, in the amount of $1,000 each, is available for students who are serving within the school community. Students must submit a 500 word essay on the impact of student leadership within the school community.

Legacy Scholarship

Legacy Scholarships, in the amount of $4,000 each, are available for qualified new students attending Trinity Catholic High School. The applicant's mother, father grandmother, grandfather, sister, brother and/or aunt or uncle must be a Trinity Catholic High School, Mercy, St. Thomas Aquinas, Rosary and/or St. Thomas Aquinas-Mercy graduate. All aspects of a student's academic record and admission file are taken into consideration, including official transcripts,  standardized  testing, and recommendations. The Legacy Scholarship is renewable as long as the student remains in good standing. Students must submit a 500 word essay answering the question "Why Trinity Catholic High School?"

Nathan Dehn Ritter STEM Scholarship

The Nathan Dehn Ritter Scholarship was established in May of 2009 by Dr. Matthew J. Ritter and Ms. Lynn A. (Amy) Wyers to honor the memory of their son, Nathan, who died of complications from a congenital heart defect when he was just three days old. Matt and Amy believed that the best way to celebrate Nathan's life was to help others obtain the Catholic education that they felt was so important in their lives. As a result, they decided to use the money that would have went towards Nathan's education to establish a scholarship in his name. The Nathan Dehn Ritter STEM Scholarship, in the amount of $2,500 each, is available for qualified students who:

  • Score in the 90% or above in math and science standardized testing.
  • Submit a 500 word essay answering the question, "Why do I like math or science?"
  • Submit two letters of recommendation from non-family members. One recommendation must be from a math or science teacher.

First Responder Family Scholarship

The First Responder Family Scholarship, in the amount of $1,000 each, is available for qualified students who are children of police officers, firefighters or paramedics. Student must submit a 500 word essay answering the question, "Why Trinity Catholic High School?"

Military Family Scholarship

The Military Family Scholarship, in the amount of $1,000 each, is available for qualified students who are children of veterans, active duty or reserve members of the Armed Forces. Student must submit a 500 word essay answering the question "Why Trinity Catholic High School?"

Work Study Requests

Trinity Catholic High School offers a work study program that allows students the opportunity to work on campus at various maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, painting and grounds work. In the fall students must be available to work before and
after school for 3 hours per week. In the summer, students must be available to work from Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon during June and July. Money earned through this program goes directly to help offset the student's tuition. Students do not receive a paycheck. There are a limited number of positions in this program, and they are available only to those with financial need.
